February 28 2016: Congratulations to Alex Tice! Our paper "Sorodiplophrys stercorea: Another Novel Lineage of Sorocarpic Multicellularity" accepted in the Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology! This research was supported by our NSF grant.

February 27 2016: Brown just got back from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Protozoologie 35th meeting – Switzerland 2016 meeting. Brown gave a talk entitled "A step into the future of protistology, a single cell transcriptome revolution". It was a wonderful meeting with lots of new collaborations established!

February 1, 2016: Brown will be speaking for Darwin Week at Plymouth Bluff Science Center on Feb. 7, 2016 at 2PM. His public lecture is entitled "Tracking Convergent Evolution Across the Eukaryotes". Hope to see you there. 

January 19, 2016: Two new manuscripts have been accepted one today and one yesterday (1/18/2016). The first is on coprophilic cercozoan amoebae (Bass et al. 2016: Environmental Microbiology) and the second is on the evolution of Archamoebae (Panek et al. 2016: Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution). 

January 14, 2016: Congratulations to Austin Walthall! He just submitted his first manuscript! Our manuscript describes a new Flamella species. 

December 17, 2015: Congratulations to Austin Walthall! He was recently awarded a College of Arts & Sciences Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Undergraduate Research Award. 

October 19, 2015: We are happy to welcome to Fred Spiegel, Lora Shadwick, and Ethan from the University of Arkansas. They are here to work on amoebae in the lab.
