August 3, 2014: In Banff, Canada for Protist 2014, a joint meeting of the International Society of Protistologists and the International Society for Evolutionary Protistology. This should be a great week to meet up with colleagues and hear about new science. 

August 1, 2014: Welcome Seugho Kang! My first of two new PhD students arrived. Seungho comes from Belgium to work on phylogenomics of Amoebozoa. 

July 19, 2014: Our paper describing Ptolemeba n. gen. is available online. It can be downloaded here. 

July 6, 2014: Brown was elected as an Executive Committee Member at Large of the International Society of Protistologists (ISOP). Brown's position is for 5 years ending in 2019. 

June 11, 2014: Our lab's research is featured on the www.msstate.edu home page. Check it out HERE!

June 10, 2014: Our lab's first amoebozoan RNAseq libraries are now being sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq platform! This project is supported by the Hunter Henry Family Research Fund, and will be used for an upcoming NSF proposal.
